Welcome!

Hill House, Heathcote

Travelling from Melbourne

If you’re travelling from Melbourne we recommend taking the Monash FWY towards Melbourne Airport and connecting with the Calder Highway. Take the second Kyneton exit, turning right onto the C326. Pass through Redesdale & over the old Redesdale bridge and continue towards Heathcote. About 15 min from Redesdale look out for Wild Duck Creek, slow down, as soon as you cross the bridge, the driveway entrance is on the right-hand-side. Veer left, and take the first right up the steep driveway and enter the gates at 493C.

FAQs

Will we be indoors or outdoors?

We’ll aim to have meals in the garden provided it’s not too hot or cold. So please pack for all seasons.

There’s also a lot to explore! We share the property with lots of animals (inc. snakes & kangaroos) and a lot of beautiful but spiky plants - so we recommend boots & long pants if you’re going exploring.

I’m staying over, what do I need to bring?

If you’re staying at Hill House, welcome! We’re still setting up the house and have limited linen supplies. Please BYO linen (sheets, doona cover & pillow cover) & towels. There are plenty of pillows at the house.

A couple of housekeeping points: we’re on tank water & septic tanks. Please be conscious of water use and only put toilet paper down the toilets e.g. no toilet wipes.

Culturally, and for practical reasons of tracking dirt from the property into the house - we’re a shoes-off house, so we recommend wearing something that’s easy to slip on and off. Thanks for understanding!

What is there do see and do at the property?

A lot! You’ll have 12 acres to explore: from Wild Duck Creek, to dams & billabongs. There is plenty of wildlife & birds of prey. And look out for the goat that’s adopted the resident kangaroo mob! Maybe we can have a naming competition! We also have Bocce and a giant outdoor Jenga set.
